This section publishes original, previously unpublished research articles reporting empirical findings across the health sciences, including observational studies, clinical trials, and laboratory investigations. All submissions undergo double-blind peer review. Word limit: up to 3,500 words (main text, excluding abstract, references, tables, and figure legends); structured abstract up to 250 words; up to 6 tables/figures combined; up to 40 references.
This section publishes comprehensive narrative reviews, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses that critically synthesise existing evidence on a defined topic in the health sciences. All submissions undergo double-blind peer review. Word limit: up to 5,000 words (main text, excluding abstract, references, tables, and figure legends); abstract up to 250 words; up to 8 tables/figures combined; references unrestricted.
This section publishes reports of unique or instructive clinical cases that contribute to medical knowledge, including rare presentations, novel diagnostic or therapeutic approaches, and significant adverse events. All submissions undergo double-blind peer review and require evidence of patient consent. Word limit: up to 2,000 words (main text, excluding abstract and references); unstructured abstract up to 200 words; up to 4 tables/figures combined; up to 20 references.
This section publishes concise reports of preliminary findings, pilot studies, or focused observations that merit timely dissemination. All submissions undergo double-blind peer review. Word limit: up to 1,500 words (main text, excluding abstract and references); abstract up to 150 words; up to 2 tables/figures combined; up to 20 references.
This section publishes brief correspondence responding to articles published in the journal or commenting on matters of relevance to the readership. Letters are reviewed by the Editorial Board and are not subject to external peer review. Word limit: up to 800 words (main text), no abstract required, up to 8 references.
